The Railway Tavern is situated directly opposite the site of the new Channel Tunnel rail link.  It has been in the same family for the last 36 years and is now run by Tom and Jan Dooner.  It is the only public house in Newham with an early morning licence and is open Monday to Saturday from 6.00am to 10.00am and then from 11.00am to midnight Monday to Saturday and noon to 10.30pm on Sundays.  The pub's friendly, family atmosphere attracts an eclectic mix of customers.  Hot, home-cooked food is served at lunch-time Monday to Friday, and from 5.30pm to 8.00pm Monday to Thursday.  Private functions can be accommodated in the lovely conservatory, which adjoins the main bar.  There is Live Music on the last Saturday of each month and regular Karaoke on Friday and Sunday evenings.
